The Threads of Migration Celebrates New York Launch at Diane von Furstenberg Store
On June 4, The Threads of Migration celebrated its New York launch at the Diane von Furstenberg store. Our initiative has grown from a capsule collection into a social enterprise centered on storytelling, design, and women’s voices. The launch included a presentation of the project, a catwalk featuring the new designs, and an evening with artists, designers, supporters, and women whose stories are at the heart of the collection.
The Threads of Migration at El Museo del Barrio — La Primera Awards NYC
On May 7, we had the honor of participating in a catwalk at El Museo del Barrio in New York during La Primera Awards. Organized by Latino Magazine, the awards recognize outstanding achievements within the Latino community, celebrating Latino voices and artistry through fashion.
WOW12 — Windows of Wisconsin April–June 2026
Threads of Migration is part of WOW12 (Windows of Wisconsin), a group exhibition in the Washington, DC area bringing together contemporary artists working across visual and textile practices, with a focus on identity, memory, and storytelling.
Talk at the Intercultural Center — Georgetown University
On April 14, we were invited to present a conversation at the Intercultural Center (ICC) at Georgetown University. The discussion was led by Professor Jessica Roda and brought together voices from The Threads of Migration to speak about migration, identity, and lived experience.
She Carries the World exhibition— Dupont Underground
In March, we participated in She Carries the World at Dupont Underground in Washington, DC, a dual exhibition where The Threads of Migration was presented together with Reverberations by Sylvana Burns.
