The Threads of Migration Celebrates New York Launch at Diane von Furstenberg Store
On June 4, The Threads of Migration celebrated its New York launch at the Diane von Furstenberg store, bringing together fashion, art, and the stories of immigrant women. The launch included a presentation of the project, a catwalk featuring the new designs, and an evening with artists, designers, supporters, and women whose stories are at the heart of the collection.
Presenting the project at the DVF store was especially meaningful, as Diane von Furstenberg was one of the designers who first inspired Dasha Pomerantseva, founder of The Threads of Migration, to launch her own fashion line, Mrs Pomeranz. Please embed a link to Mrs Pomeranz here.
The Threads of Migration began as a capsule collection and has since grown into a social enterprise centered on storytelling, design, and women’s voices.
The event was made possible with the support of Maria Barraza and Rafael Romero from the Brooklyn Fashion Incubator, whose mentorship and vision helped bring the New York launch to life. Virtu3D, an AI platform for fashion design and 3D visualization, supported the development of the collection. Fashion Week Brooklyn helped with the catwalk and logistics, and Model Camp Experience introduced the project to the talented models who brought the skirts to life on the runway.
We are deeply grateful to Diane von Furstenberg and the DVF team for welcoming The Threads of Migration into such a meaningful space, and to everyone who attended, supported, walked, shared, and celebrated this important new chapter of the project.
