Stefanny – Pink Pleated Midi Skirt with Pompom Detail

$325.00

A pink pleated midi skirt with a classic mid-century silhouette.

This skirt features a 1950s-inspired cut with box pleats, side pockets, and an invisible zipper at the back. The waist is cinched with a belt finished in Agyao-inspired fabric, adding contrast and structure to the design.

The skirt is a tribute to Stefanny Sarich, a psychotherapist and social worker who was forced to leave Bolivia and rebuild her life in Maryland. Her story reflects the difficulty of adapting to a new culture while carrying a deep longing for the communal life she left behind.

The design brings together several references: the shape of a classic 1950s skirt, the traditional pollera worn by Bolivian cholitas, and Agyao fabric—traditionally used by women to carry children and goods to market. When Stefanny left Bolivia, one of the few personal items she carried with her was a diary wrapped in Agyao fabric.

Hidden inside each pocket is a small detail meant to be discovered: colorful pompoms that can remain tucked away or be worn proudly. The detail speaks to the idea of carrying memory quietly, while choosing when and how to share it.
